Biogas scrubbing purification system
Biogas produced from the anaerobic fermentation processes of animal excreta is one of the potential resources of sustainable energy. H2S and CO2 removal is the key point of biogas utilization. The purpose of this study was to develop a high-efficient and low-cost biogas scrubbing purification system to remove H2S and CO2 for increasing the purity of biogas from cattle excreta. The results indicated that the removal efficiency of CO2 and H2S were 70-90% and 99%, respectively. One kilogram of ferric oxide could absorb 0.16-0.20 kilogram of H2S. The scrubbing and absorption towers developed in this study were very efficient.
