II. Circular Agriculture
1. Transforming "Waste" into "Green Gold"—Promoting the Reuse of Livestock Wastewater and Slurry: According to 2023 statistics fromthe Ministry of Agriculture, Taiwan's 5.32million pigs and 160,000 cattle produce over 70 million metric tons of wastewater annually. After treatment, this wastewater can irrigate farmland, improve soil quality, and reduce the need for agricultural fertilizers.
2. Turning "Decay" into Utility-Developing High-Temperature Dried Chicken Manure Pelletization for Fertilizer Production: With approximately 200 metric tons of chicken manure requiring disposal annually, this technology reduces processing time and odor, fostering the circular economy in agriculture.
3. Transforming "Excess" into Nutritional Feed— Developing Alternative Livestock Feed from Agricultural By-products: Taiwan produces about 5 million metric tons of agricultural surplus annually, including by-products like secondary sweet potato vines, lemon peels, and pineapple skins. These high-fiber, protein-rich, carbohydrate, and vitamin-rich by-products can serve as alternative livestock feed, mitigating environmental pollution and pest issues.
