In the statistics of 2013, there were 7,000,000 geese slaughtered in Taiwan, while the White Roman geese breed occupied more than 97% market demand. With the economic development the mode of raising geese changed to a large scale of enterprise. Thus, a traditional housing system for breed geese raising for farmers or entrepreneurs was established. The artificial insemination technique on geese was useful. But it was still a hard work, and needed many labors to support. Therefore, we developed a simple and easy machine for semen collection and semen insemination on geese industry. The machine could reduce 1 or 2 labors at the work.
The body size of geese is bigger than chicken, so we needed more human resources to collect semen of geese. Now, labors can be reduced, if the machine is used to assist people with collecting semen or semen insemination of geese. One man uses the machine to collect geese semen, we only take 139.8 sec per goose, and two people for semen insemination only take 75.9 sec per goose. However using the machine to deduct labors from the work is a benefit for expanding artificial insemination technique to geese industry.
In general speaking the breeding geese industry could make progress with the improvement in tools, and also enhance the industrial competitiveness and potential income. Excellent breeder group could prolong life and take advantage of good performance if use the goose artificial insemination reproductive technology. The use of artificial insemination shelf assisted reproduction. The above work could reduce the required human resource.
