Kaohsiung Animal Propagation station is located on Pingtung County which the most south County of Taiwan. The Pingtung County meat type chicken industry concentrates on two types of chicken farmers: white feathered broilers and colored domestic chickens. There are Approximately 119 farms feeding 2 million white feathered broilers and 377 farms feeding colored domestic chicken in Pingtung County. According to agricultural statistics in 2013, the value of the white feathered broiler industry reached NT$ 25 billion, and colored domestic chicken industry reached NT$ 6.8 billion. 

       For enhancing and supporting colored domestic chicken production, Kaohsiung Animal Propagation station addressed to breed colored domestic chicken with high productive performance and established the homozygous genotypes of Heat Shock Proteins 70 (HSP-70) and Prolactin receptor (PRLR) in chickens which had heat resistant and early maturing characters. Three generations for inbreeding procedure, the homozygous genotypes strains as L7, L9 L11 and L12 of colored domestic chicken were obtained. Homozygous genotypes strains of colored domestic chicken have the reproductive performance in high producing eggs with heat resistant and early maturing characters which may be provided as the alternative breeder flock.
