COMPARISON ON THE DETERMINATION METHODS FOR MINERAL ELEMENTS IN COMPLETE FEEDS AND SUPPLEMENTS
ICP-OES (Induction coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer) can be applied for detection of multiple minerals in one procedure. The IDL and MDL of 10 mineral elements including calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na), potassium (K), Ferric (Fe) manganese (Mn), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), cobalt (Co) and selenium (Se) were established with the detection of ICP-OES. Besides, the standard operation procedure (SOP) of the ICP-OES method, and 306 feeds, agricultural by-products and mineral premix were established also. The result showed that the IDL for Ca、Mg、Na、K、Fe、Mn、Zn、Cu、Co and Se was 8, 3, 25, 25, 4, 2, 2, 2, 2 and 4 ppb respectively, and the MDL were 0.52, 0.15, 1.25, 1.25, 0.27, 0.10, 0.10, 0.12, 0.10 and 0.20 ppm respectively. The SOP for multiple detection on minerals by the ICP-OES methods is described also. Under the project "Strengthen the feed production quality and safety control". By this project, it can enhance the feed safety and risk management to insure the animal products safety and consumer's health .The analytical samples included 235 samples for aflatoxin, 286 samples for Cu, Zn, 44 samples for heavy metals (Pb, Cd, As, Hg) and 36 samples for melamine. The result showed that aflatoxin, melamine had 100％ passing rates. All heavy metals analytes met the national standards for animal feed inspection except Cu, Zn and As, which had passing rates of 83％, 72％ and 98％, respectively.
