Since 2019, the Taiwan Livestock Research Institute has established the "Indigenous CommunityPoultry-Friendly Farming Support Team," selecting eight indigenous communities as demonstration sites.

In partnership with academia, poultry leg bands, Al chips, and remote monitoring systems were introduced to develop the "Tribal Al Free-Range Chicken" farmingmodel, enabling real-time monitoring of environmental conditions and poultry health.

Utilizing local agricultural by-products, unique chicken meat and egg products were developed for local markets. Feed formulas incorporating sake lees and pumpkin were created, producing "Pumpkin Eggs" and "Sake Lees Chicken" with "low fat, low calorie, and low cholesterol" profiles.

After 40 years of conservation efforts in Taiwan, the unique Lanyu Pig was successfully reintroduced to its indigenous homeland, supporting the maintenance of purebred populations.
